Niels Orens is an electronic music producer and live artist who combines acoustic and electronic elements in his work. Classically trained, he translates that background into electronic compositions in which tempo, dynamics, and texture play a central role.
In 2024, he released the EP s/low nights, in which he deliberately explores slower tempos and leaves space for nuance and detail. His music moves between calm and intensity, with a clear focus on emotion without becoming sentimental.
Orens is based in Brussels, where he is a resident at Volta, and has worked closely with Max Cooper. He contributed to Cooper’s album Unspoken Words and was part of the SEME project, in which classical Italian music was reinterpreted within a contemporary electronic context. The project was performed at venues such as the Barbican in London and the Salzburg Easter Festival.
Live, Niels Orens presents his music as a carefully constructed AV performance. With performances across Europe and support shows for artists such as Forest Swords, Rival Consoles, and Gold Panda, he is steadily developing his own voice within the electronic live circuit.
